Job Purpose and Impact
The Global Human Resources Operations Leader will provide leadership and own the end-to-end strategy, design, delivery and execution for payroll, workforce time management, leave of absence and exit employee data management. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of payroll, workforce time management and leave of absence and exit management processes for Cargill, which operates in 70+ countries and employs approximately 160,000 employees worldwide. Your expertise in payroll management, compliance and workforce time management will be crucial to ensuring accurate timely, compliant, and effective processing across the organization and drive continuous improvement efforts to further elevate process performance. Translate global strategy into human resources services and solutions, leverage teams for delivery using technologies and processes and provide thought leadership in recommending solutions that build on business and functional strategic drivers.
Responsible for the end-to-end process design, delivery, and performance of HR Operations teams’ activities, including those administered by the Cargill Business Service Centers (CBS) including the selection and performance management of third-party service and technology enablement providers. This includes setting SLA standards; monitoring and actively managing performance and providing KPI/dashboard insights to relevant stakeholders.
Drive the identification of areas for improvement in the broader HR Operations function and associated continuous improvement initiatives.
Use data and analytics to develop metrics and scorecards for identifying insights around payroll and workforce time management trends and opportunities.
Payroll Management:
Develop and execute global payroll strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for employees in 70 countries.
Oversee Payroll operations, including data collection, validation, and calculations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, tax laws and company policies.
Collaborate with local payroll providers and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.
Workforce Time Management:
Lead the implementation, optimization, and operational effectiveness of workforce time management systems, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of employee time and attendance globally.
Analyze time management data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
Provide guidance and training to local HR and payroll teams regarding time management systems and processes.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Develop and deploy compliance programs with global, country, and local labor laws, tax regulations, and payroll-related compliance requirements in each country of operation (also includes statutory requirements, including tax filings, withholding and contribution limits, and other payroll-related obligations.)
Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and mitigate payroll-related risks and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Build and lead a high-performing global payroll and time management team, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities. Provide strategic leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which includes forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training, and budgeting.
Lead, coach, and develop the global human resources operations team and ensure alignment across all regions and ensure teams are equipped to meet business needs.
Foster collaboration and effective communication across departments, such as HR, finance, legal, and IT, to streamline processes and drive efficiency.
Establish strong relationships with external vendors, payroll providers, and consultants to leverage their expertise and ensure service excellence. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Proven focus on leading people and processes on a global scale
Developed subject matter expertise across time and pay, leaves of absence and exits
Operated in a company with a large, geographically distributed and primarily production based workforce
Proven success managing vendor relationships, including outsourced service providers
Proven experience with process improvement and large-scale program management
Experience in learning, designing, and implementing new or improved processes that affect both people and businesses
Minimum 10 years of related work experience, minimum 7 years of supervisory experience
Extensive experience (10+ years) in global payroll management and workforce time management in a large-scale organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or other post-secondary degree
Human resources certificate
Experience with HRIS and time management systems implementation and optimization
