Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical engineering activities within our R&D department in System Drives division. System Drives is further investing in drive system development into different fields of applications (e.g. hydrogen production and wind turbines) and thus strengthening its design organization. In this role, you will take part in product development projects, designing and simulating drives. You will work in cooperation with other design disciplines, production, suppliers, product engineering and other stakeholders. This position is located in Helsinki, Finland. This position reports to
Design Manager
Your responsibilities
- Mechanical design of frequency converters
- Designing sheet metal, extruded and plastic components
- Performing basic structural and thermal simulations
- Supporting production and mechanics' suppliers
- Prototyping and hands on testing of mechanical components and assemblies
Your background
- At least few years of relevant work experience (e.g. in R&D)
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering: manufacturing (e.g. sheet metal), materials (metals and plastics), dimensioning and tolerances
- Knowledge of electrical components and electricity
- Good knowledge of using PTC Creo and Windchill
- Excellent communication, cooperation and team-work skills
- Professional working proficiency in English, Finnish language skills are seen as an advantage
